Yes, it has a been a while since I posted. I wish had some exciting news to report but the opposite is true. Not much has been going on of note.
Running-wise, I’ve been putting together some quality weeks. For my upcoming goal race, I devised a plan with high/low weeks. But I’ve been pushing the mileage up a bit. In fact, I’ve been doing all the big things right. Now, I need to work on the little things.
The right foot has been bothersome. My Plantar Fasciitis has been more painful that the last few month. It’s something I’ve dealt with for over a year now. I’m lucky, though. It’s painful but I definitely can run especially if I take good care of it. I don’t have the “stabbing, I can’t walk” pain so many others describe. Is there such thing as a mild case? I have notice, in conjunction with the pain a general lower body tightness. So I’ve resolved to get more general stretching in as well as try a few strength exercises. I also need to make better use of my hot tub.
I have a good opportunity to kick the tires on Sat. My first 5k of the year. The weather is looking great and my wife is also doing the event. I feel as though I am in sub-18 pace but you never know. The course doubles back on itself and it can get crowded in the second mile. Wish me luck!
